Your own power after dark
The house runs on what the roof made at lunchtime instead of buying it back at dinner time. Sized off your evening usage, not your roof: for a typical Whitsunday household that lands around 10 to 13 kWh, more if you run a lot of aircon, a pool pump or an EV in the evening.

Lights on in a blackout
A standard solar system shuts off in a blackout for safety. With a Sungrow hybrid inverter and a dedicated backup circuit, the fridge, the lights and a few power points keep running off the battery. We spec exactly what stays on at the quote.

The rebate, taken off the price
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate comes off at the point of sale, as its own line on your quote, so you never pay full price and wait for a refund. It steps down every year until 2030, so sooner beats later. It applies to a battery installed with solar, new or existing.

Already got solar?
Most systems can take a battery.
Either an AC-coupled battery that works alongside your existing inverter, or a swap to a hybrid inverter. We'll tell you straight which suits the gear you've got and which gets the most out of the rebate. The Sungrow stacks are modular, so you can size up later if your usage grows.

What we check first
- Your evening usage, from your last few bills.
- The inverter you've already got, if any: make, model, age.
- Switchboard capacity and whether a backup circuit is practical.
- Somewhere it's allowed to go: a garage, a carport or a sheltered outside wall, never a living area.
- Your meter and Ergon plan, so the battery is actually saving you money.
Rebate eligibility and amounts depend on the system and the rules at the time. Savings are indicative only until we've assessed the site.
