It depends on your roof, how you use power and which Ergon plan you're on. Most Whitsunday households see a solid drop. We look at your last few bills and give you a straight number before you commit to anything. Estimates are indicative only until we've assessed the site.
The panels we install are rated for the wind loads we get up here, on mounting systems tested to Australian standards for cyclone regions (Region C). Nothing's indestructible, but this is about as tough as it gets.
Yes. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes a meaningful chunk off the cost of an eligible battery installed with solar, and it steps down each year until 2030, so sooner beats later. It comes off at the point of sale, so you don't pay full price and wait for a refund. We show it as its own line on your quote. Eligibility and amounts depend on the system and the rules at the time; figures are indicative only.
Only if the system is set up for it. A standard grid-tied solar system shuts off in a blackout for safety. Blackout backup needs a hybrid or backup-capable inverter and a dedicated backup circuit, so when the grid drops your fridge, lights and a few power points keep running off the battery. We spec that during the quote so you know exactly what stays on.
Yes. If you're in a unit or townhouse, or your roof isn't suited to panels, a battery on its own can still cut your bill by charging when power is cheap and running the house in the evening. There's no government rebate for a battery without solar, so it's straight maths, and we'll tell you honestly whether it stacks up for your place.
Yes, that's a big part of what we do. Most systems can take a battery, either alongside your existing inverter or by swapping in a hybrid inverter. We'll tell you straight which option suits the gear you've got and which gives you the best bang for the rebate.
Most residential installs are done in a day, sometimes two for a bigger system or one with a battery. You get a clear timeline before we start, and we sort the Ergon paperwork and connection afterwards.
Panels: LONGi, one of the world's largest tier-one manufacturers, with a strong warranty and a good record in tropical conditions. Inverters and batteries: Sungrow. Their hybrid inverters are what give you blackout backup, and the battery stacks are modular so you can size up later. If a different brand suits your situation better we'll tell you straight.
